Love fly fishing and social media? We’re looking for someone to help grow REYR Gear’s online presence in a fun and creative way! This is a super flexible, part-time role - perfect if you’re already spending time on the water and want to share that passion with others.
About REYR Gear:
REYR Gear was founded in 2018 after traveling the west and wanting to have more travel-friendly fly fishing equipment so that on any hike, bike ride or climbing session - we could easily stop and fish along the way. The highlight product is our telescoping First Cast Fly Rod that is a combination of tenkara and traditional fly rods to give what we believe is the best combination of versatility and performance to have fun fishing anywhere.
The rest of our gear is also developed with this idea in mind along with being inclusive with the prices and simplicity of our gear to widen the angler audience the industry currently serves.
We are a tiny company trying to make it work in an outdoor industry filled with big marketing budgets - and we are looking for someone to help with our mission (and hopefully, they will have fun along the way too)!
What You’ll Do:

Manage our social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, etc.)

Create and post fun, engaging content - 2-4 times per week
-
Find cool ways to showcase our gear in action
-
Chat with our audience, reply to comments/messages, and build community
-
Help brainstorm ideas for promotions and marketing campaigns
-
Stay on top of social media trends and keep things fresh
What We’re Looking For:

You love fly fishing and know your way around the sport (this is key!)
-
You’re a self-starter and enjoy working independently
-
You’re comfortable with taking photos/videos (no need to be a pro!)
-
You get how social media works and know how to make content that gets noticed
-
You’ve got good writing skills and a solid eye for aesthetics
-
You’re genuinely interested in the brand ethos and products
Bonus Points If You:
-
Have used social media tools like Later, Buffer, or Canva
-
Know a little bit about video editing (CapCut, Adobe Rush, etc.)

Payment and Terms:

This is a contract role and not a full-time hire. The expected hours per week are 5-10 depending on how you consider content creation (and hopefully having fun outside at the same time!)

The applicant will get a full suite of gear from REYR
-
The role will pay a monthly stipend of $500 - $1,000 depending on qualifications

The role as it stands will be set period of time from Mid-April to Mid-October
-
The opportunity to extend the length of the contract is based on performance
